Protein Oats

Protein OATS! Oh so thick & fluffy!!!

Struggle with hitting your protein goals?

Try out this filling egg white & protein powder oat recipe!

Ingredients:

1 Better Oat Fit 100 cal Packet (I like the cinnamon roll)

+ enough water to fill the packet up where the line is

138 grams of liquid egg whites (3 servings), adds 15 grams of protein

15 grams of your favorite protein powder

1 capful of skinny syrup to sweeten and or a stevia packet

To top:

SF maple walnut walden farms syrup.. the best flavor! Better then the pancake one, but can only find on amazon!

THE NEW NEW NEW cashew blend DUNKA-ROO from American Dream Nut Butter (click underlined words to head to the site) that is a vanilla frosting cashew base with gf crushed vanilla cookies and sprinkles… Tastes like heaven! I use about 28-32 grams on my oats, but this time 28 grams!

Directions for stove top:

Use a small sauce pan, boil the water & oats on medium heat.

Stir in stevia / skinny syrup to sweeten.

Next up, weigh out desired amount of egg whites, pour into boiling oats.

Turn down heat to low, whisk in egg whites.

Whisk in the egg whites and stir constantly. The whisking is key and will keep the eggs from scrambling and create thick and fluffy oats. The voluminous texture of egg white oatmeal makes it my favorite high-protein oatmeal option. It’s perfect for volume eaters who love sitting down to a big bowl of oatmeal.

Last but not least, turn the heat OFF & add protein powder. Stir in when oats are off the heat to avoid cooking the protein once it hits the oats. That denatures it and its harder for your body to absorb it.

The key to not being able to taste the egg whites is cooking it properly & then the toppings!

I find that if I add protein powder too, they get even thicker and more “CAKE LIKE”! So if you struggle with getting in enough protein… try adding egg whites AND or protein powder!
